U.S. EMBASSY CONSULAR UPDATE: Immigrant visa applicants must ensure that visa application requirements are complete before their scheduled interview appointment:
• Valid passport/s + old passport with a U.S. visa (if applicable) • Form DS-260 (Online Immigrant Visa Application found at http://ceac.state.gov/ceac/) and printout of the DS-260 confirmation page • Original civil documents • Medical examination results from St. Luke’s Extension Clinic (sealed brown envelope), if applicable • Signed affidavit of support forms from your petitioner/sponsor and financial documents • Any other supporting documents that may be presented to a consular officer during interview (some examples are photos with petitioner, court documents, etc.) • For employment-based applicants – original and photocopies of visa screen or FCCPT, state licenses, updated job letter and employment contract.
The above-mentioned documents must be hand-carried and submitted to the Embassy during the scheduled interview appointment. You must have these documents ready to submit, without extra or unnecessary documentation, personal items, or packaging.
However, if the visa application is under online processing, the below information and instructions applies:
These are visa applications where an applicant or petitioner utilizes the CEAC portal (using the login) to upload visa requirements (civil and financial documents). The following documents must be ready before the scheduled interview:
• Completed Form DS-260 (Online Immigrant Visa Application) at http://ceac.state.gov/ceac/. • Scanned and uploaded civil documents, affidavit of support forms, financial documents of the petitioner and sponsor/s into the CEAC portal using a login. • Scanned documents must not exceed the 4MB size limit. For multiple-page documents, the file should be scanned and uploaded as one PDF file. • Completed medical examination with St. Luke’s Extension Clinic • During the interview appointment, ONLY bring the documents listed below: • Valid passport/s + old passport with a U.S. visa (if applicable) • Print-out of Form DS-260 confirmation page • Original civil documents • Medical examination result from St. Luke’s Extension Clinic (sealed brown envelope), if applicable • Any other supporting documents that may be presented to a consular officer during interview (some examples are photos with petitioner, court documents, etc.)
NOTE: There is NO NEED TO BRING the petitioner/sponsor’s affidavit of support forms and financial documents, however these documents must be uploaded into the CEAC portal prior the interview.
