U.S. Ambassador Sung Kim is soon ending his tour of duty in the Philippines. Before we say goodbye, we look back at some of the highlights of the U.S.-Philippine relationship during his time as U.S. Ambassador.

In the first years of U.S. Ambassador Kim’s tour, he announced a project supporting rehabilitation efforts in Mindanao following the Marawi Siege. The U.S. and Philippines also launched partnerships to address the detection and treatment of tuberculosis.

In 2018, Ambassador Kim also led the groundbreaking of a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief warehouse, and the awarding on the Congressional Gold Medal to Filipino veterans who fought heroically during World War II.
