Good morning All,
Please share this information wide and far. Post the videos or attachments on your social media sites, in your facilities. The more we can spread the word the more we can educate Veterans.
Claim Predators Also Known as Claim Sharks
Hello Veterans and Partners,
VA Manila would like to share some recent activities that both President Biden and the Department of Veterans Affairs are doing to combat predatory practice, fraud, or otherwise unlawful acts against Veterans and their families. We know that with your help, we can fight and ensure Veterans have the knowledge to understand the threat of claim predators, identify claim predators, and how to find VA accredited representatives to support their benefit claims, and how to report the predatory practices of claim predators.
On August 9, 2024, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Biden-Harris Administration announced a new government-wide website, called VSAFE, and a call center to protect Veterans from fraud and scams. See attached announcement for further information. The VA has also established a Claim Predators Communications Campaign and Toolkit, which contains (see attached):
SECVA’s video Affirming VA’s commitment to protect Veterans.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ).
Claims predator infographic/flyer.
Power Point presentation for external audiences.
We are sending you this information to educate and provide information to help protect yourself, but also ask that you share this information widely with fellow Veterans, partners and others and ask that you post the information on social media and in your facilities. The more we can share and spread the more Veterans and family members we can help avoid becoming a victim and falling into these scams.
