President's Message

NO CHANGE IN QUARANTINE STATUS. Continue to monitor any restriction changes in the area where you reside or plan to travel. Traveling is easier now.

1.  On 1 September 2020, the Defense Health Agency  (DHA) launched 74 new military hospital and clinic Air Force websites.  This is an effort to modernize the web presence of all military treatment facilities (MTFs).  Each website transitioned to the TRICARE domain will provide a standardized patient experience across the Military Health System (MHS).

2.  TRICARE may give some military families and retirees the option to choose a health network other than the two to manage the TRICARE East and West regions, according to a report delivered by the Pentagon to Congress in August.  TRICARE winning contractors will be required to partner with local health plans or networks in their regions to provide services to TRICARE beneficiaries.

3.  BEWARE!! of new Google Password Scam.  If you receive an email that appears to come from Google Photo – DO NOT OPEN!  Someone will tell you that someone you know or may not know wants to share an album of photos with you.  This is a phishing scam to gain access to your Google accounts.

4.  TIKTOK and Wechat downloads wiil be barred from the U.S. starting this Sunday, 20 September.  Those already having downloaded these apps will find that they may not function normally due to U.S. restrictions.

5. GMM: Our next scheduled General Membership Meeting is on Tuesday, Oct 6th at 2 PM in A.L. Post 123’s Outdoor Pavilion. Our BOD Meeting will be before the GMM at 1:30 PM. Hope to see you there!
