President's Message

Quarantine status unchanged.  Please remain aware that status changes may be unexpected and surprising in the areas you live and travel.

1.  Military and dependents now have through the end of June 2021 to access benefits using ID cards that expired this year. The extension of temporary ID card rules is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2.  Prescriptions will be available for pick up at commissaries and exchanges without having to wait in line in a room full of sick people.  “Scriptcenter”  program kiosk for dispensing medications are being installed at several locations.  Both options, medical center or Scriptcenter will be available.  The Scriptcenter option has a three day wait and your meds will be available for 14 days before being returned to the pharmacy.

3.  The Marine Corps has activated a new base on Guam for 5K members of III Marine Expeditionary Force to move there from Japan over the next 5 years.  Camp Blaz, near Anderson AFB is the first new Marine installation since 1952.

4.  Blue Water Claims – VA said on 28 September the completion of an inter-agency effort in coordination with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to digitize declassified deck logs to process claims faster for Vietnam veterans.  BOTTOM LINE – if you or someone you know were denied benefits due to not being boots on the ground, but on a Navy ship “GET YOUR CLAIMS IN NOW”!

5. VVA 887 GMM & BOD: Today, Tuesday, Oct 6th = BOD @ 1:30 PM, GMM @ 2. PM in A.L. Post 123 Outdoor Pavilion. Hope to see you there!
