President's Message

Quarantine status – No change.

1.  The VA will provide a headstone for any eligible deceased veteran, even if they are already in an unmarked grave in any country around the world.  In selecting a headstone, the National Cemeteries Administration has approved only 67 emblems of beliefs to put on tombstones.  Check the VA.gov or the Cemeteries Administration website for the authorized list of emblems of belief.

2.  Congress has passed a sweeping end-of-year bill that will impact virtually every aspect of the veteran community. The bill is over 340 pages. Many provisions are for female veterans.

3.  The VA now has one centralized phone number for all customer service, 1-800-MyVA (800-698-2411). The old numbers are still active and are not going away. The White House VA hotline is 855-948-2311. Just remember that 1-800 numbers are not toll free from the Philippines (unless using Magic Jack or equivalent system). The toll free numbers through the Manila VA are toll free.

4.  The new “Space Force” member of the Department of Defense members will be known as “Guardians of the Galaxy”.

5. Our Next GMM (1st one of 2021) will be held on Tuesday, January 5th at 2 PM in A.L. Post 123’s Outdoor Pavilion. A BOD meeting will be held prior to the GMM at 1:30 PM. Hope to see you there.

STAY SAFE!
